About OCP

OCP was founded in Morocco in 1920 as the Office Chérifien des Phosphates. We started with a single mine at Khouribga. Our operations now span five continents, and we work throughout the value chain, from mining and manufacturing to education and community development.


OCP sites

    1921 : Start of mining in Boujniba in the vicinity of Khouribga and phosphate export from
                the port of Casablanca
    1931  : Mining begins of a second deposit in Youssoufia
    1965 : Beginning of phosphate valorization and diversification with the opening of the first OCP
                chemical complex in Safi
    1980 : Opening of the Benguerir Mine
    1986 : Start-up of the sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid production lines in Jorf Lasfar and the
                fertilizer lines in 1987

: OCP acquires full stake in Phosboucraâ
